About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Process Excellence Manager to join our team at the General Dental Council. As a key member of our Regulation Directorate, you will play a critical role in driving continuous quality improvement and operational excellence across our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee performance monitoring and compliance within the Regulation Directorate, ensuring that our registration, fitness to practise, dental professionals hearings service, and dental complaints service are operating at the highest standards.
  • Utilize data analysis and management information to identify trends and patterns in business flow, and work with senior managers to develop and implement solutions to support service level agreements and quality delivery.
  • Act as a trouble-shooter, responding to urgent operational demands and designing and implementing solutions to address issues affecting operations and performance.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director and their direct reports to develop and implement continuous quality improvement programs.
  • Provide line management and operational cover for department heads during periods of absence or leave, as required by the Executive Director, Regulation.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate:

  • Experience working in a regulatory environment, with a strong understanding of operational management and leadership principles.
  • Proven track record of managing operational teams, with the ability to mentor, motivate, and challenge others to achieve goals and pursue excellence.
  • Project management experience, ideally with a strong understanding of Agile methodology and its application to various project sizes and stages of the project life cycle.
  • Commitment to equality and diversity, with a focus on creating an inclusive and respectful work environment.
  • Ability to utilize data and management information to identify process and business improvements, and make informed decisions.
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills, with the ability to prepare and deliver high-quality reports within short timeframes.
