Job Title: Supervisor Catering and Bars

Location: Reading

Contract Type: Temporary - on-going - term to perm

Starting On: Immediate start available

Rate of Pay: Mon- Fri £16 + Holiday pay per hour - Weekends £24.00 per hour

Hours of Work: Flexible, the operation runs from 7am to Midnight 7 days a week. There are currently a team of 4 supervisors who work a variety of shifts over the 7 days and generally work 4 days and have 3 days off. Hours of work would typically be 37.5 per week.

The Role:
You will be working for a large University within their Catering, Bars and Dining operations. The operation is predominantly staffed by students of the University. The role will lead student workers across multiple sites while on duty, providing a point of contact for advice and issues, as well as providing training to the student worker team to ensure excellent service continuity.

Key Responsibilities:
• Supervise team members to ensure specifications are adhered to and high standards are maintained
• Provide on-the-job and structured training, such as barrel changes and cleaning tasks
• Adhere to the University food safety code of practice
• Ensure excellent customer service is delivered by the team
• Supervise the retail of alcohol in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements
• Supervise the Bar and Dining Services
• Supervise payment operations, including opening, operating, and closure of the payment points, in line with financial procedures

• Able to stay calm when pressure mounts or difficulties arise in service
• Understanding of student-centric social media platforms
• Basic understanding of profit and loss accounts

Qualifications/Certifications/Experience:
• Level 2 food hygiene qualification
