Job Summary


We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to lead a small team of software developers in creating new software systems and tools. The ideal candidate will have technical leadership skills, experience with data processing and analysis systems, and knowledge of Agile software development practices.



Key Responsibilities


The successful candidate will be responsible for:



  • Leading a small team of software developers in creating new software systems and tools
  • Developing and maintaining near-real-time software for data acquisition systems and non-real-time software for data processing systems and analytical tools
  • Collaborating with the team to ensure timely delivery of projects and continuous improvement of software quality


Requirements


To be successful in this role, you will need:



  • Experience of working with desktop/cloud data processing and analysis systems, typically using Python, Java, C# or C++
  • Strong skills in Agile software development practices
  • Experience working with real time or near real time sensing hardware, communication devices and data acquisition systems, typically using C++, C#, .NET, Java
  • Experience of near-real time processing in Windows environments


What We Offer


In return for your expertise and dedication, we offer a competitive salary of £80,000 - £100,000 per annum, depending on experience, as well as a stakeholder pension scheme with a 5% company contribution, enrolment into a company-wide profit share scheme, medical cash plan (providing cash back for dentistry and opticians, physio), and 25 days annual leave per holiday year.
