About the Role">

This Electromagnetic Safety Specialist role is an exciting opportunity to join the Defence Radiation Protection Services team at Atomic Weapons Establishment (AWE). We are looking for a skilled professional with a strong background in physics and experience in electromagnetic field safety and/or laser and optical radiation safety.

You will be responsible for conducting safety assurance visits, measurements, attending meetings, and delivering training. Additionally, you will support the development of non-ionising radiation protection policy and guidance at MOD-wide and service level.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Physics or a closely related subject, recent experience working in an EMF and/or laser safety role, and a full UK driving licence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting safety assurance visits and measurements
  • Delivering training courses
  • SUPPORTING THE DEVELOPMENT OF NON-IONISING RADIATION PROTECTION POLICY AND GUIDANCE
  • Providing non-ionising radiation protection advice
