Following a period of restructure and as part of their strategic growth, they are looking to recruit a Financial Controller to bolster the management team and ensure the financial stability of the business.

Job Summary:

As Financial Controller, you will be a key member of the management board, working closely with the COO and CEO, responsible for shaping and executing the financial strategy of the business. This new role is designed to strengthen the financial management and ensure robust financial systems and controls are in place. You will have a robust, hands-on approach to managing the day-to-day finances while also driving strategic initiatives to support the company's growth and success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Strategy and Planning:
  • Develop and implement the company's financial strategy to support long-term objectives.
  • Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
  • Provide financial analysis and insights to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Financial Management and Reporting:
  • Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements in compliance with statutory requirements and accounting standards.
  • Ensure regular comprehensive financial reporting to the management board and Partners.
  • Manage cash flow, investments, and financial risk to maintain the company's financial health.
  • Credit Management:
  • Work with the credit control team to enhance and enforce credit policies and procedures.
  • Oversee credit control, collections, and manage relationships with creditors and debtors.
  • Monitor and mitigate credit risk effectively.
  • Financial Systems and Controls:
  • Implement and maintain robust financial systems and internal controls.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Oversee internal and external audits and address any findings promptly.
  • Operational Finance Management:
  • Take a hands-on approach to managing the day-to-day financial operations of the business.
  • Provide support and guidance to the finance team in their daily tasks and responsibilities.
  • Leadership and Team Management:
  • Build and lead a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Provide mentorship and development opportunities for team members.
  • Collaborate with other departments to support overall business goals.
  • Stakeholder Management:
  • Manage relationships with banks, financial institutions, insurers, auditors, and regulatory bodies.

Qualifications and skills:

  • Qualified ACA, ACCA, or CIMA.
  • Proven experience in a senior financial leadership role.
  • Strong experience in credit management and implementing financial systems and controls.
  • Demonstrated expertise in strategic planning, financial analysis, and risk management.
  • A robust, hands-on approach to managing day-to-day financial operations.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • High level of integrity, dependability, and ethical conduct.
  • Experience in acquisitions would be advantageous.
  • Experience in Sage 200 would be advantageous.
