Hours: 40 hours per week - flexible hours

Contract / Permanent: Permanent

Site Based / Office / Remote: This role is predominantly based in Ellesmere Port, with occasional site visits required and up to 2 days per week WFH

Role Requirements

We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to join our team as an EC&I Design Engineer. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical design, with experience working on designs for hazardous areas installations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing clear and concise drawing and document packs, carrying out cable calculations, and advising junior engineers on engineering principles and guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Design packs: Develop clear and concise drawing and document packs and review existing packs with a keen eye for detail.
  2. Calculations: Carry out cable calculations, I.S Loop Calculations (DSDs), AC and DC load schedules, lighting calculations and thermal capacity calculations, and ensure their accuracy.
  3. Advise: Use your garnered knowledge to train and advise the Junior EC&I design engineers on engineering principals and guidelines.

Secondary Duties

Process improvement: Build a clear image of the existing processes and offer improvements and suggestions.

Commissioning: Aid the commissioning team during pre-FAT and FAT with any EC&I related issues.
