Job Summary

This role offers a unique opportunity to work as an Assistant Psychologist embedded in probation offices under the guidance and supervision of qualified psychologists from St Andrew's Healthcare.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and enhance the professional psychological care of clients within the Criminal Justice System (CJS)
  • Provide psychological assessment and interventions under the supervision of a qualified professional psychologist
  • Work independently according to a plan agreed with the psychologist and within the overall framework of MHTRs and St Andrew's policies and procedures

Requirements

  • Eligible for Graduate Membership of the British Psychological Society
  • Desirable to have some experience working as an Assistant Psychologist before and a relevant Master's degree in psychology

Working Arrangements

The role will be located across Suffolk, offering face-to-face interventions, though some remote sessions will be offered virtually to meet the needs and preference of clients. Travel outside of Suffolk and outside of the main working bases is reimbursed separately and is typically required for training.

Communication

You will facilitate effective communication within the NPS and other agencies that may include: primary care services, specialist mental health services, social care and third sector services to ensure continuity of care across all services.
