About the Role

East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to fill the position of Breast Care Clinical Nurse Specialist. This is a Band 7 role, part-time, 30 hours per week, based in Ipswich with occasional requirements to work across ESNEFT sites.

The ideal candidate will have significant previous experience as a Breast Clinical Nurse Specialist and hold a breast care qualification. We are looking for a caring and compassionate individual with a committed attitude, able to work autonomously and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide highly developed standards of specialist breast care knowledge, advice, and clinical expertise to patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Have continuing responsibility for providing co-ordinated, holistic care for patients with breast disease from diagnosis to specified follow-up pathways.
  • Participate in aspects of clinical governance and implement quality initiatives as part of the audit process to evaluate standards of care and service delivery.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse with a level 1 qualification.
  • First-level degree in a relevant subject.
  • Relevant specialist long course in breast care at degree level.
  • Evidence of mentoring and coaching.
  • Advanced communication course.
  • Psychological level 2 training.
