Job Summary:

Options Resourcing is seeking an experienced Estimator/Buyer to join our team in the Fire and Security industry. As an Estimator, you will play a key role in the pre-sales process, ensuring accurate, timely, and competitive cost estimates for customer projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for the installation, maintenance, and servicing of Fire and Security systems.
  • Review project specifications, blueprints, and client requirements to determine the scope of work and associated costs and produce quotations from information supplied by clients, engineers, or personal site visits.
  • Obtain and analyze quotes from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing and quality standards.
  • Communicate with clients to clarify project requirements, address concerns, and provide updates on estimates and proposals.
  • Maintain accurate records of estimates, project changes, and cost variations. Provide regular reports to management on estimating activities and project status.
  • Provide technical and commercial assistance.
  • Protect the company's commercial interests by ensuring quotations are produced with profitability in mind.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as an Estimator in the Fire and Security industry or a related field.
  • Familiarity with cost estimation software and techniques is essential.
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills
  • Attention to detail, and the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
  • Strong prioritization skills and ability to manage own workload.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
  • Likewise, looks for ways to improve and enhance existing systems and processes.
