Learning Support Assistant required for a dynamic and supportive team in Bexley, South London.

Job Summary: This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children and young adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

About the Role
  • You will work closely with pupils, teachers, and other support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Responsibilities
  1. Support pupils with ASD in developing their learning skills and promoting independence.
  2. Assist with personal care if required, demonstrating kindness and understanding.
  3. Engage with pupils, creating a stimulating and enjoyable atmosphere.
  4. Supervise pupil behavior, using effective strategies to promote good behavior.
  5. Collaborate with teaching staff to develop and implement individualized learning plans.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Previous experience working with children or young adults with ASD.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with pupils, parents, and colleagues.
  • The ability to remain calm under pressure, using effective de-escalation techniques.
  • A valid DBS registration or willingness to apply for one.
