The End-Point Assessor will be responsible for conducting assessments for apprentices in the Outdoor Learning Specialist L5 program. This will involve evaluating the performance of candidates in accordance with published assessment and grading criteria and procedures.
The ideal candidate will have a relevant qualification at or above the level they are assessing, experience of leading meetings and structured interviews, and a commitment to maintaining Continuous Professional Development (CPD). They will also have a broad and specialized knowledge of the natural outdoor environment and be able to determine likely hazards and perform risk-benefit assessments.
The End-Point Assessor will be required to:
- Take part in regular training and standardization activities
- Maintain and provide evidence of ongoing CPD
- Assess the performance of candidates in accordance with published assessment and grading criteria and procedures
- Follow protocols set out in Pearson's specifications, assessment materials, and quality assurance protocols
- Report all risks and issues encountered during the assessment to Pearson
- Ensure all assessment reports and evidence are high quality and recorded accurately
- Support Pearson with any appeals from apprentices regarding assessment decisions
- Allow additional time for travel when making assessment arrangements
- Raise any conflicts of interest, including in relation to the independence of assessment
- Ensure that any personal actions are completed as required by Pearson
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of Pearson's end-point assessment activities
- Contribute to external quality assurance activities undertaken by the Institute for Apprenticeships (IfA)
The successful candidate will have excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills, including the ability to effectively respond to conflicts. They will also have knowledge of relevant legislation, codes of practice, and sufficient and relevant technical knowledge of the outdoor learning industry.
Only UK-based candidates will be considered for this role due to requirements. A minimum of two working days during the week will be required for this role.
