Children's Emergency Department Deputy Sister/Deputy Charge Nurse (Band 6) - Paediatric Nurse

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Children's Emergency Nurse to join our team as a Deputy Sister/Deputy Charge Nurse (Band 6) in the Children's Emergency Department at University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust.

About the Role:

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a high level of clinical expertise, leadership skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality emergency care to infants, children, and young people.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate programmes of evidence-based nursing care to a group of patients.
  • Lead and supervise others in the caring process, including mentoring, teaching, and assessing students and learners on placement.
  • Deputise and take charge of the department in the absence of the Ward/Unit Manager.
  • Contribute to the development of CMG and Trust policies, procedures, and clinical guidelines.
  • Ensure the delivery of care meets the standards determined by the Ward/Unit Manager and the Standards for Better Health.
  • Participate in ward audits and the development and implementation of relevant action plans.
  • Actively contribute to the improvement of services and the quality of care provision to meet the needs of patients, service users, and their families.

Requirements:

  • Relevant years of experience as a Children's Emergency Nurse.
  • Strong clinical knowledge and leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make decisions under pressure.
