Pricing and Underwriting is a crucial function that requires meticulous analysis and strategic decision-making. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining pricing models that drive business growth.

Salary

We offer a competitive salary of £55,000 - £70,000 per annum, depending on your level of experience. In addition to your base salary, you will also be eligible for a 9% employer-contributed pension scheme and various benefits including 25 days annual leave.

Job Description

As a Pricing and Underwriting Specialist, you will work closely with our Pricing and Underwriting team to develop and maintain pricing models that drive business growth. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  1. Developing and maintaining pricing models using SQL, Python, and Radar;
  2. Sharing insights from your analysis at cross-departmental meetings;
  3. Supporting the deployment of our pricing to the market;
  4. Identifying opportunities to enhance existing processes;
  5. Mentoring and supporting more junior colleagues;

You'll work alongside a team of experienced colleagues and report directly to a Band 5 Pricing Practitioner.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • General insurance pricing experience or previous experience in an analytical role;
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to consider multiple scenarios and anticipate outcomes;
  • Familiarity with SQL, Radar, and Python;
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to explain findings to both technical and non-technical audiences;
  • Numerical skills and attention to detail;
  • Good knowledge of insurance processes outside of pricing;
  • A numerate degree in Mathematics, Statistics, or related subjects;
