This is an exciting opportunity to take on a senior role at the Sky Group, where you will be responsible for leading the pricing and underwriting strategies for our Home Insurance business.

We are looking for a highly experienced professional with a strong background in household insurance pricing, who can inspire their team to develop and grow. As the Head of Pricing & Underwriting, you will be responsible for setting and monitoring the pricing and underwriting strategies for Sky, working closely with our insurance carrier partner to manage the account to agreed targets and drive profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and develop the pricing and underwriting team (team of 10)
  • Monitor and react to the market with a view to retention and new business sales volumes
  • Pricing model development, governance, and sign-off
  • Data enrichment from multiple sources, including internal, external, and team-engineered data
  • Maintenance and monitoring of the rating engine and underwriting controls
  • Reporting into and participation in regulatory governance processes
  • Input into the forecasting process
  • Overall responsibility for Pricing and Underwriting's involvement in cross-departmental projects
  • Share your expertise with Sky Protect and Sky business leaders
  • Utilize your experience of the wider household insurance market to optimize the Sky account

About the Role:

The salary for this role is estimated to be around £120,000 - £180,000 per annum, depending on experience. This is a full-time position based at our Osterley campus, which offers excellent transport links and amenities.

Requirements:

  • Strong leadership skills, inspiring teams to develop and grow
  • Experience in household insurance pricing, including technical modelling, street pricing, and optimization
  • Knowledge of linear and non-linear modelling, along with their strengths, weaknesses, and diagnostics
  • Ability to work with complex and large data, deriving value from it
  • Excellent communication skills, able to explain complex ideas simply
