Role Overview

Catastrophe modelling is a vital aspect of the (re)insurance industry, enabling insurers and reinsurers to evaluate and manage natural and human-made catastrophe risk.

We are seeking talented graduates with a strong quantitative background to join our Catastrophe Modelling team as Quantitative Risk Modellers.

As a Quantitative Risk Modeller, you will work closely with clients to understand their risk exposure and develop innovative solutions to mitigate potential losses.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Interpreting client data and processing it into a format suitable for use in catastrophe models
  • Undertaking sensitivity testing to help clients understand the impact of data quality and modelling assumptions
  • Collaborating with academic and industry partners to validate and create innovative solutions for the (re)insurance market

You will have the opportunity to work on a range of projects, from developing new catastrophe models to evaluating existing ones. Your skills and knowledge will be developed through our comprehensive training program, which includes business skills training, workshops, and support for professional qualifications.

What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary of £35,000 per annum, plus benefits including a pension scheme, life assurance, and annual leave.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will need to have or be on track to achieve a 2:1 degree in mathematics/statistics, finance/economics, sciences/technology, or similar quantitative field.

You will also need to possess strong programming skills, ideally in Python or R, and good communication skills.
