About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Staff Nurse to join our team at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust (279). As a Staff Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the delivery of excellent healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide effective, safe, and evidence-based patient care in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Code of Conduct.
- Ensure optimum standards of care for all patients, including those with complex needs.
- Undertake planning, implementation, evaluation, and re-evaluation of individual programmes of care, taking into account patients' dignity, religious, and cultural needs.
- Actively participate in and monitor the promotion of education for patients, their relatives, and colleagues, ensuring these needs are met within available resources.
- Develop into expanded roles of wound care, venepuncture, and defibrillation, and maintain competency in these areas.
- Ensure that the delivery of all nursing care complies with departmental, NMC, and Trust policies, protocols, procedures, and guidelines.
- Be accountable for own professional judgments, actions, and omissions.
- Regularly handle heavy patients/objects, adhering to Trust Moving and Handling Policy.
- Ensure appropriate standards are met when exposed to hazardous/biological substances.
- Ensure provision of all drugs as prescribed in accordance with UHSussex policies.
- Process patient property and valuables in accordance with UHSussex policy.
