About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Building Safety Specialist to join our team at Great Places Housing Group. As a key member of our compliance team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our customers and residents.

Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional to take on a challenging role that requires strong technical knowledge of fire safety and building regulations. You will work closely with our Strategic Fire Manager and the Building Safety team to coordinate customer safety maintenance, ensure legal compliance, and meet British Standards requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage allocated fire risk assessment actions within our fire risk assessment portal (Riskhub), ensuring timely action and uploading compliance evidence.
  • Assist with the management and operational delivery of all fire-related contracts and contractors.
  • Provide visible and skilled survey and inspection regime covering all aspects of building safety, ensuring compliance with current regulations, best practice, and British Standards.
  • Routine inspections of communal areas, blocks, and individual flats to ensure effective management and customer safety.
  • Monitoring the building and fire safety inbox and providing competent advice to general fire and building safety queries.
  • Working with partners to ensure a matrix of fire and building safety responsibilities is created and understood by all duty holders.
  • Ensure certification and reports produced by in-house staff or contractors are verified, reported, and actioned in a timely manner.
  • Undertake post-inspections of works.
  • Maintain effective and appropriate records and administrative systems, ensuring all documentation is stored in agreed shared locations.
  • Record and report KPI data in a timely manner.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in legislation, building regulations, policies, and best practice, ensuring compliance with legislation and good practice.

In return for your hard work and commitment, we offer a competitive salary of £40,000 - £50,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus a range of benefits, including:
