Job Description

Operational Team Leader

We're looking for an experienced Operational Team Leader to join our Serious Injury Department. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for supervising, developing, and mentoring our Serious Injury Paralegals.

Your primary focus will be on ensuring cases are progressed in a timely manner, individual colleague performance is aligned with company objectives, and operational, financial, and client service performance levels are met.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Team Manager in leading the team, delegating tasks as necessary.
  • Manage the performance and productivity of team members, providing regular feedback and coaching.
  • Manage processes, including personal development plans, performance reviews, absence management, disciplinary, and grievance processes.
  • Provide effective supervision, including weekly supervision, feedback sessions, sharing knowledge, updates, and guidance to help colleagues progress.
  • Work to deadlines, prioritizing tasks and managing workload effectively.
  • Facilitate and deliver training as required, both inductions and ad-hoc sessions.
Requirements
  • Previous experience of leading teams and managing performance and productivity, ideally in a legal environment.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Teams, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Experience of conducting 1-2-1s, personal development plans, and performance reviews.
  • Ability to interpret management information and data.
  • Proven track record of leading colleagues through people processes, including absence management, development plans, disciplinaries, and grievances.
  • Ability to prioritize, work quickly, accurately, and to deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with self-awareness of your own impact on others.
  • Client care skills, with experience of client contact.
  • Ability to accurately follow company process and guidelines, making appropriate decisions.
  • Motivate colleagues while working as part of a team.
  • Strong supervisory skills, with the ability to put others at ease and build trust and confidence.
