Job Title: Consultant Psychiatrist - Adult - Single Point of Admission Service

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team at Neath Port Talbot Hospital. As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will play a key role in developing services and working towards a 24-hour single point of admission service.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist to make a significant impact on the development of our services. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary management team to drive positive change and improve patient outcomes.

You will be allocated a Consultant who has completed the Portfolio Pathway (CESR) process as an educational and clinical supervisor to guide you through the process and help you with your portfolio.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective working relationships with all levels of staff
  • Participate in the development of local mental health services
  • Contribute to the improvement of services through audit and research
  • Provide teaching and training to postgraduate and undergraduate clinical staff
  • Work with management and clinical colleagues to improve services

You will have the opportunity to develop your skills in other subspecialties and undertake special interest sessions. We host a number of regional services, including perinatal mental health services and regional medium secure services.

Requirements
  • Registered with the GMC
  • Licensed to practice
  • On Specialist Register with GMC as a specialist in General Adult Psychiatry or eligible for CCT within 6 months of date of interview
