About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Service Engineer to join our team at Sealed Air Corporation. As a Service Engineer, you will be responsible for providing maintenance and installation services for our fleet of equipment in the Gloucestershire/Worcestershire area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide maintenance and installation services for equipment in a specific region, ensuring optimal operation and utilization of company resources.
  • Evaluate customer needs and expectations, plan and organize service, maintenance, or installation work to meet their requirements.
  • Evaluate, troubleshoot, and carry out repairs on equipment to ensure minimal downtime and maximum efficiency.
  • Provide customers with detailed instructions and coordinate installations, maintenance, testing, and corrective actions to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain electronic records of site visits and activities in accordance with company requirements.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge on all technical aspects of Sealed Air's packaging systems to provide expert advice and support.
  • Coordinate activities with Sales, Systems & Integration, and customers to ensure fast response, establish routine maintenance, and testing for optimal operation.
  • Maintain open communication with Sales, Systems & Integration, and Applications & System promotion engineers to ensure all information involving the project and customer activities is communicated.
  • Manage specific projects with timely progress, reviewing and approving relevant documentation, analyzing data regarding equipment performance, maintenance, replacements, corrective actions, customer needs, and other project elements.
  • Develop sales from existing customers by encouraging the use/upgrade of packaging systems and proposing packaging evaluation and design projects where opportunities exist for increased sales.
  • Ensure all activities are in compliance with company, regional, and customer standards, policies, and procedures, and safety rules.

Requirements:

  • HNC in electrical engineering or equivalent qualification.
  • Basic knowledge of PLC programming.
  • Good knowledge of pneumatics and mechanical skills.
  • Strong troubleshooting capabilities and ability to train customers on machinery.
  • Confident communication and customer relationship-building skills.
  • Computer literate and professional telephone manner.
  • Full driver's license and willingness to travel and work some weekends.
  • Good knowledge of English language.
