About the Role

The role involves leading a team of professionals in implementing the Open University's Carbon Reduction Implementation Strategy and delivering carbon reduction and energy management across the University's estate.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing budgets, identifying and selecting contractors, and ensuring compliance with procurement practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of professionals in implementing the Open University's Carbon Reduction Implementation Strategy.
  • Manage a range of carbon reduction projects from inception to completion, including monitoring and verification.
  • Assist the Head of Infrastructure in implementing the Open University's Carbon Reduction Implementation Strategy.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • BTEC Higher National Diploma, NVQ Level 4, Degree in construction, environmental engineering studies, or membership of CIOB, RICS, RIBA, or CIBSE.
  • Experience of working within an energy management, construction, building services, or engineering-related field.
  • Knowledge of sustainable and carbon reduction technologies, materials, and processes.
