Land Lead Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Land Lead to join our Enabling Team at Anglian Water Services Limited. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of landowner engagement, land access, and land acquisition activities across our delivery programme.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the delivery of land access and acquisition activities, including managing external land agency related activities, projects, land and interest referencing, access negotiation, and management of legal notices.
  • Provide accurate forecasting on land compensation and acquisitions.
  • Identify and engage with strategic regional landowners to ensure timely and cost-effective approvals.
  • Work with Anglian Water Quality and Environment Teams to develop land strategies to support nature-based solutions.
  • Develop strategies to enhance landowner sentiment.
  • Manage the @one Alliance land strategy, ensuring consistent delivery of land acquisition and access activities across external supply chain partners and internal delivery teams.
  • Support the ongoing development and transformation of geospatial and digital interfaces for land access and acquisition data.
Requirements:
  • Extensive experience in negotiating terms for property and land access and acquisitions under statutory powers.
  • Strong background and demonstrable knowledge of all land rights and interests.
  • MRICS or AssocRICS qualification is desirable.
  • Proactive communication skills and ability to lead on landowner and occupier engagement.
  • Ability to work flexibly across several projects and meet required deadlines without supervision.
