About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate teacher to join our team at a lovely special school in Okehampton. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality education and support to students aged 4-16 with social, emotional, and mental health challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to students' individual learning needs.
  • Provide targeted support to ensure students remain motivated and engaged.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, with a focus on emotional wellbeing as much as academic progress.
  • Develop and implement EHCPs in collaboration with teaching assistants and support staff.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies to support students in overcoming barriers to learning.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent teaching qualifications.
  • Experience in working with students with SEN, particularly those with SEMH needs and challenging behaviours.
  • Excellent understanding of the pedagogy of progressing learning.
  • A patient, compassionate, and resilient professional with strong behaviour management skills.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
  • An organised, reliable, and enthusiastic individual.
