Special Education Assistant

We are seeking two full-time Teaching Assistants to work in schools in Okehampton.

Both roles are SEND – one is within an SEND school and the other is in a mainstream primary but a 1:1 SEND role.

Responsibilities:

  • Guide students as a Teaching Assistant, offering personalized guidance and support.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and parents to develop comprehensive support plans.
  • Foster a nurturing environment that promotes improved social interactions and communication skills.
  • Assist with daily tasks, academic activities, and implement effective interventions to address behavior challenges and promote positive outcomes.

  • Effective communication abilities to ensure clear interactions
  • Applicants holding a valid driver's license and access to a vehicle will be prioritized.
  • Demonstrated patience and empathy along with flexibility and adaptability.
