We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Fellow to join our team in the Department of Paediatric Haematology and Oncology at Leeds Teaching Hospitals. The successful candidate will work closely with our project nurse and pharmacy team to develop and implement an ambulatory chemotherapy service for our patients.

About the Role

The Clinical Fellow will be responsible for developing a project plan for the ambulatory chemotherapy service, implementing the plan, and supervising the medical care of patients on treatment. They will also communicate with the inpatient and day unit team and provide written summaries for parents, GPs, and local paediatricians as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop a project plan for the ambulatory chemotherapy service
  • Implement the plan and supervise the initiation of ambulatory treatment
  • Supervise the medical care of patients on treatment and review outcomes
  • Communicate with the inpatient and day unit team and provide written summaries as needed

Requirements
  • At least 4 years of experience in paediatric specialities
  • Experience in paediatric oncology and haematology at HST level required for the project leadership
  • Eligibility to work in the UK and hold a current licence to practice from the GMC
  • Advanced life support certificate from the Resuscitation Council UK or equivalent
  • Demonstrable skills in written and spoken English adequate to enable effective communication about medical topics
