Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Management Accountant to join our Central Support Office Finance team on a six-month fixed-term basis.

The successful candidate will support the Finance team in financial accounting, management accounts, compliance, and statutory accounts. They will also provide analysis and insight to support business decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Support the preparation of monthly financial reporting packs
  • Undertake month-end tasks, including posting journals, balance sheet analysis, and journal corrections
  • Encourage proactive improvement of the month-end reporting process
  • Support the professional development of Finance Analysts through mentoring
  • Coordinate audit requests and act as a contact for auditors
  • Prepare, monitor, and report key business and financial controls
  • Monthly reconcile complex balance sheet accounts, such as stock
  • Review reconciliations undertaken by Finance Analysts and provide feedback on improvements
  • Responsible for year-end stock take accounting process
  • Involvement in annual budget preparation
  • Coordinate Finance Analysts to ensure timely and accurate national statistics reporting
  • Prepare quarterly VAT returns
  • Support the Financial Controller and Group Financial Reporting Senior Manager with corporation tax, VAT, and PAYE queries
  • Ad hoc project work as required by the business
