Role Overview:

  • The successful candidate will coordinate multi-agency approaches to prevent and address child protection issues and children in need.
  • Responsibilities include undertaking statutory duties under The Children Act 1989 and other relevant legislation, promoting anti-discriminary practice and empowering children and families.
  • The role involves building positive relationships with children and their families, facilitating participation and direct work to ensure their voices are heard.
  • Maintenance of high-quality case files in the council's social work database is essential, adhering to General Data Protection Regulations and recording key information within set timescales.
  • Providing witness statements for Court when required is also a key aspect of this role.

The ideal candidate will hold a degree or equivalent in Social Work, be registered with Social Work England, and have relevant experience within Children's Services.
