Primary SEN Teaching Assistant Role Overview

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced SEN Primary Teaching Assistant to join our team in Plymouth. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support to students with SEN in a supportive and inclusive primary school environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with students who have Special Educational Needs (SEN) to ensure their individual learning and development needs are met.
  • Deliver engaging lessons and adapt resources to suit diverse learning styles in collaboration with the class teacher.
  • Foster a positive and nurturing learning environment by supporting students with emotional, social, and behavioral needs.
  • Implement effective strategies and interventions in collaboration with teachers, parents, and SEN coordinators.
Requirements:
  • Desirable: previous experience working with children with SEN in a school or similar setting.
  • Necessary: a proactive, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting young learners.
  • Essential: a valid UK driving license and access to your own vehicle.
  • Desirable: business insurance to cover travel to and between school sites, as required.
  • Not Essential: A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
Compensation and Benefits:
  • Competitive daily pay rate of £85-£90, based on experience.
