Job Title: Homeless Support Worker - Southampton

Two Saints is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Homeless Support Worker to join our team in Southampton. As a Homeless Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting young people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of clients and work with them on a one-to-one basis to identify their needs and develop a support plan.
  • Encourage clients to engage in personal progression activities, such as education, training, or employment.
  • Help clients improve their practical skills, including budgeting, shopping, cooking, and housework.
  • Work with external partners to maximize opportunities for clients and support their resettlement in the community.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of clients, including safeguarding and lone working.
  • Collaborate with key partner agencies, including Children's Services, Family Nurse Partnership, and Pathways.
  • Help clients access benefits and maintain a welcoming and safe environment.
  • Maintain accurate client records and adhere to Health and Safety regulations.

Requirements:

  • Clear verbal and written English
  • Good IT and keyboard skills
  • Polite, assertive manner, and ability to self-motivate
  • Passion for working with homeless people and commitment to helping others
  • Knowledge of the benefits system and tenancy legislation
  • Full driver's license and access to a vehicle (desirable)
