Job Description

As a Senior Hardware Electronics Engineer at Matchtech, you will lead a team of engineers to develop and implement safety-critical technology in highly regulated industries such as nuclear, medical, automotive, and aerospace. Your expertise in hardware electronic engineering, team leadership, and design for reliability will be instrumental in driving project success.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the Hardware Electronics team for projects, overseeing all aspects of design, development, and implementation.
  • Act as an independent reviewer of electronic designs and supporting lifecycle documentation, ensuring adherence to project, company, and regulatory standards.
  • Capture, develop, and validate hardware requirements, working closely with cross-functional teams to meet project objectives.
  • Design, analyse, implement, and verify electronic circuits, applying expertise in high integrity/safety-critical circuitry, microcontroller-based circuitry, and digital interface circuitry.
  • Document design activities, ensuring traceability and adherence to project, company, and regulatory standards.
  • Generate, perform, and validate hardware verification plans and procedures, collaborating with Systems, Software, and Mechanical disciplines to meet hardware requirements.
Requirements:
  • Degree in Electronic Engineering or equivalent, with a strong background in electronics engineering principles and practices.
  • Experience in hardware electronic engineering, leading teams, and de-rating, reliability prediction analysis, and FMEA.
  • Proficiency in:
    • Design of high integrity/safety-critical circuitry
    • Design of microcontroller-based circuitry
    • Design of digital interface circuitry using SPI/I2C/CAN/MIPI/DDR
    • Design of analogue signal measurement/conditioning circuitry
    • Design of low voltage power supplies and power switching techniques
    • Design for lightning and voltage transient protection
    • Design for EMC/EMI
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise duties with minimal supervision.

The estimated salary for this role is £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience and location.
