About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior HR Operations Manager to join our team at Devon County Council. As a key member of our HR Operations team, you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of HR Advisers to deliver excellent HR services to the council and its partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of HR Advisers to deliver high-quality HR services, including HR consultancy and support, data analysis, and quality assurance measures.
- Develop and implement HR policies and practices to enhance the quality and efficiency of service delivery.
- Collaborate with other teams to ensure seamless and integrated service delivery for customers.
- Manage and contribute to service-wide HR projects, including HR system implementation and process improvements.
- Provide expert advice on complex and varied HR cases and queries, and contribute to the development of professional practice within the team.
- Champion and model the Voice and Belonging themes of our People Strategy, which aims to create a respectful and diverse workplace, where employees have a say in decisions and feel valued for their work.
Requirements
- Relevant HR qualification or equivalent experience.
- Proven track record of managing and developing HR teams and services in a complex and changing environment.
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of HR best practice, legislation, and trends.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with a variety of stakeholders.
- Customer-focused and solution-oriented approach, with the ability to balance competing demands and priorities.
- Commitment to continuous improvement, innovation, and learning.
- Passion for the council's vision, values, and goals.
