Job Title: HR Assistant

Devon County Council is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented HR Assistant to join our team. As an HR Assistant, you will provide administrative support to the HR Officer and HR Manager, ensuring the smooth operation of HR processes and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the recruitment process, including recruitment administration and the induction of new staff.
  • Record and report staff absence, identify absence trigger points, and schedule meetings.
  • Produce HR correspondence, maintain accurate records, and personnel files.
  • Collate data and produce reports using databases such as SIMS and iTrent.
  • Provide administrative support to the HR Officer and HR Manager.
Requirements:
  • Excellent administrative skills and IT skills, with knowledge of Microsoft packages, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Experience of using databases SIMS and iTrent is desirable.
  • Knowledge of HR processes and procedures is desirable.
  • Professional and effective communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
Working Hours and Conditions:

Monday to Friday, 28 hours per week, term time 39 weeks per year, with a starting salary of (pay award pending). There can be some flexibility with how the hours are deployed across the week.
