Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Bolton. As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of SME clients and providing a full range of accounting services.

The successful candidate will have at least 3 years of post-qualification experience in a similar role within an accountancy practice. You will have strong knowledge of UK GAAP, FRS 102, FRS 105, and relevant tax legislation.

The salary for this position is approximately £35,000 per annum, with potential for performance-related bonuses. We also offer study support if required, as well as support for continuous professional development (CPD).

In addition to the competitive salary, we offer flexible working options, including hybrid working arrangements. You will work in a friendly, supportive environment with opportunities for career progression.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Client Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, acting as their primary point of contact for all accounting matters.
  • Accounts Preparation: Prepare statutory accounts, management accounts, and financial statements for a diverse portfolio of SME clients.
  • Tax Compliance: Prepare and submit VAT returns, corporation tax returns, and personal tax returns, ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations.
  • Advisory Services: Provide clients with insightful financial advice, including budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and business planning.
  • Software Utilization: Utilize accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, and Sage to maintain accurate and up-to-date client records.
  • Mentoring and Development: Support and mentor junior team members, providing guidance and reviewing their work to ensure high standards are maintained.
