Job Title: Apprentice Trading Standards Officer

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Apprentice Trading Standards Officer. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in enforcing legislation and advising businesses on compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct site visits to ensure businesses comply with relevant legislation, including food, pest, and housing standards.
  2. Contribute to and lead special projects and investigations as directed by the group manager.
  3. Undertake inspections and searches of relevant premises, either by prior arrangement or unannounced, as required.
  4. Respond to and investigate reports and complaints received under relevant criminal and civil law.
  5. Attend and contribute to meetings, lectures, seminars, and other training and development courses.

Requirements:

  1. Experience conducting sound regulatory and enforcement practice.
  2. Excellent understanding and up-to-date knowledge of Trading Standards legislation and key policy developments.
  3. A full clean current driving licence and access to a vehicle.
  4. A diploma or equivalent in Trading Standards is desirable.
