Laing O'Rourke is seeking a talented Environmental Sustainability professional to lead the development and integration of our environmental and energy management system on a major infrastructure project.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the business in driving sustainability ambitions and achieving net zero goals
  • Promoting environmental initiatives aligned with our sustainability strategy, such as carbon reduction and waste minimisation
  • Building trusting relationships with project delivery teams, clients, and stakeholders to deliver against their needs
  • Implementing the LOR Energy and Environmental Management System
  • Managing environmental risks, deliverables, and requirements, involving design and delivery teams
  • Developing and delivering environmental training
  • Managing comprehensive environmental data reporting requirements
  • Reporting and investigating environmental incidents and non-conformances

Requirements include:

  • Experience working on large infrastructure projects
  • High level of personal drive and commitment, with effective goal setting ability
  • Positive approach to change, with ability to help others become receptive and responsive
  • Deep understanding of environmental legislation and requirements, including ISO14001 and ISO50001
  • Logical and well-organised, with ability to prioritise
  • Ability to communicate effectively and build good working relationships

Qualifications include a degree in an appropriate environment or sustainability discipline, minimum 5 years of relevant experience, and full membership of IEMA or alternative suitable membership.
