Job Summary:

UNICEF UK is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Director of Communications and Public Engagement to lead our communications efforts and build strong relationships with key stakeholders. As a senior leader, you will be responsible for developing and implementing integrated communication strategies, cultivating high-profile relationships, and managing reputational risk and crises.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies to promote UNICEF UK's mission and values
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including media, ambassadors, and partners
  • Manage and mitigate reputational risk and crises through effective communication and stakeholder engagement
  • Lead and develop a high-performing communications team, providing guidance and support to ensure successful delivery of communication objectives
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment and effective communication of UNICEF UK's goals and objectives

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in leading large, complex communications teams and developing integrated communication strategies
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders
  • Ability to think critically and strategically, with a focus on delivering results and achieving objectives
  • Knowledge of the charity sector and experience working with high-profile stakeholders
