About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and caring SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at an inclusive and supportive SEN School in St Helens. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide one-on-one or group support to pupils with a range of SEN, including autism, learning difficulties, and behavioural challenges.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Provide tailored support to pupils with SEN, including autism, learning difficulties, and behavioural challenges.
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering lesson plans and activities that cater to the needs of pupils with SEN.
  • Foster a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment that promotes the emotional and social development of pupils.
  • Support students' confidence and independence by providing individualized support and guidance.
What We're Looking For:
  • Experience working with children with SEN is preferred but not essential - a positive attitude and willingness to learn are key.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting children's needs.

To be considered for this position, you will need to have previous school experience, be familiar with the SIMS system, and hold a child workforce enhanced DBS certificate which is on the update service, or be willing to apply for a new one. You will also need to have satisfactory references and a CV that covers the last 10 years of employment history where possible and any gaps in employment must be explained.
