About the Job

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Substance Misuse Nurse to join our team at HMP Millsike, a Category C men's prison located near York. As a member of our healthcare team, you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive assessment and recovery planning for patients with substance misuse issues.

The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical background in substance misuse and be able to deliver a range of treatment options, including clinical and psychosocial interventions. You will also be responsible for carrying out comprehensive assessments, initiating and reviewing individual recovery plans, and confidently communicating the full range of treatment options available to service users.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new healthcare team from the inception of a brand new prison site. You will receive a bespoke induction, including our Introducing Health in Justice training course, and have access to a competency framework, regional and national career development opportunities, and our bespoke Learning Management System to address your learning needs.

As a Senior Substance Misuse Nurse, you will be expected to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care. You will also be required to participate in ongoing professional development to stay up-to-date with the latest best practices and evidence-based treatments.
