We are seeking a skilled Building Surveyor to join our team at BD Group. As a key member of our facilities services team, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing our organisation's assets and housing stock.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare work specifications and liaise with sub-contractors to ensure timely completion of projects.
- Record work completion, manage invoices, and conduct inspections to ensure high-quality services.
- Support the Repairs Team in managing contractors and monitor performance to meet targets.
- Act as a customer contact for repair issues, addressing complaints and queries in a professional and courteous manner.
- Work at various office locations as required, and conduct induction meetings with new employees and sub-contractors.
- Handle commercial queries and provide advice to Line Managers on building surveying matters.
- Membership or accreditation with a relevant professional body, such as the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), is highly desirable.
- Full clean manual UK driving Licence.
- Experience in building surveying, particularly in dealing with damp and mould issues.
- Experience in managing reactive repairs and maintenance projects, preferably within the social housing sector.
- Strong understanding of building construction, materials, and methods, particularly related to damp and mould issues.
- Ability to assess building conditions, identify issues, and develop effective solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to liaise with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and ensure timely completion of all tasks.
- High level of accuracy in preparing works specifications, conducting inspections, and managing documentation.
- 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
- A DBS check will be required for this role.
