Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated individual to become a volunteer befriender for children and young people living in foster care in Sutton-In-Ashfield. As a volunteer befriender, you will act as a positive role model, providing companionship and support to the young person, who may have limited or no contact with their own families.

Responsibilities

  • You will be matched with a child or young person on a one-to-one basis.
  • As a befriender, you will participate in fun activities together or simply have conversations.

Requirements

  • You must be 18 years or older.
  • The role requires a commitment of 2 years with 1 visit per month.
  • You need to be available after 4pm on weekdays or at weekends.

Training and Support

We will provide comprehensive training and ongoing support to ensure your success in this role.

Salary: £20-£24 per hour (estimated)
