Dedicated Support Assistant
Disability North is seeking two enthusiastic and supportive Personal Assistants to join our team. We are looking for individuals who share our passion for enabling people with disabilities to live fulfilling lives.
Salary: £15.00 per hour, plus mileage in working hours
We are particularly interested in candidates with a clean driving licence and their own vehicle, as this will enable us to take our young client, Mason, on exciting outings to places like the zoo and parks.
Mason requires support due to his non-verbal nature, so we need someone who can understand and respond to his communication needs. Knowledge of Autism, Sensory Processing Disorder, and Pica would be beneficial but not essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- To provide 2:1 support to Mason during activities and outings
- To develop a strong understanding of Mason's communication methods and preferences
- To work collaboratively with Mason's family to ensure seamless transitions and continuity of care
Requirements:
- A clean driving licence and access to a vehicle
- An understanding of Autism, Sensory Processing Disorder, and Pica (desired but not required)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Benefits:
- Ongoing training and development opportunities
- A supportive and inclusive work environment
- The chance to make a real difference in the life of a young person with a disability
Please note that this role is subject to references and satisfactory DBS checks. At the time of starting employment, the successful candidate must have permission to work in the U.K.
