Science Teacher Job Description

We are seeking a highly qualified and enthusiastic Science Teacher to join our dynamic team at Supply Desk. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality science education to students aged 11-18, fostering a deep understanding and appreciation of scientific principles across various disciplines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement engaging and effective lesson plans that align with the National Curriculum for Science.
  • Utilize innovative teaching methods and educational technologies to enhance student learning and engagement.
  • Assess and evaluate student progress through a variety of assessment methods, providing constructive feedback to support student development.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation, collaboration, and critical thinking.
  • Participate in curriculum development and extracurricular activities, contributing to the overall academic and social development of students.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of advancements in scientific research and education, incorporating relevant findings into teaching practices.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and the wider school community to support student success and well-being.
Qualification and Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK, with a relevant degree in Education or subject area.
  • Proven experience teaching KS3 students, with a track record of achieving excellent academic outcomes.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to effectively plan and deliver engaging lessons.
  • Enhanced DBS clearance and a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
