Job Title: Industrial Placement Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as an Industrial Placement Mechanical Engineer. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for supporting the design and development of our world-leading electro-optic, communications, and information systems products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the design and development of mechanical systems and components
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver technical solutions that meet customer needs
  • Develop and present design data to ensure compliance with industry best practices
  • Deliver detailed designs, including numerical calculations and tolerance studies
  • Produce manufacturing data packs in line with BS8888, including appropriate use of GD&T
  • Generate piece parts, assemblies, and mechanisms within defined constraints
  • Work to meet cost, schedule, and quality demands
Requirements:
  • Currently undertaking a minimum of a Bachelor's level degree in Mechanical Engineering or a similar field
  • Self-motivated individual with a willingness to take on new challenges and drive continuous personal development
  • Strong communication skills across various mediums
  • Ability to develop effective working relationships with peers and stakeholders
  • Adaptable to changing demands and able to offer novel ideas and methods for solving technical problems
