Nuclear Commissioning Expert

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nuclear Commissioning Engineer to join our team at Endeavour Recruitment Solutions. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe operation of all plant and processes under your control and complying with the Nuclear Site Licence and Mod Authorisation Condition (LC/AC).
About the RoleThe successful candidate will supervise and direct industrial staff during the commissioning of nuclear submarine systems and equipment to time, cost, and quality, ensuring that all rework is identified and recorded. You will also be responsible for ensuring that all activities conform to professional engineering standards, quality orders, Nuclear and Submarine safety constraints.
Key Responsibilities- To ensure the safe operation of all plant and processes under their control and to comply with the Nuclear Site Licence and Mod Authorisation Condition (LC/AC).
- To supervise and direct industrial staff during the commissioning of nuclear submarine systems and equipment to time, cost, and quality, ensuring that all rework is identified and recorded.
- Ensuring that all activities conform to professional engineering standards, quality orders, Nuclear and Submarine safety constraints.
- The inspection, testing, calibration, and commissioning of systems and equipment in accordance with authorised documentation, carrying out fault diagnosis and proposing corrective solutions.
- Maintaining a close liaison with Ship Staff, Project, and Production personnel so that any possible conflicts in testing and safety implications to the submarine can be readily identified and resolved.
- Radiation Protection Supervisor duties when appointed by Plant Manager.
- To carry out the role of Test Director or Nuclear Procedure Co-ordinator when nominated by the Test Group or PAG as appropriate.
- Researching and compiling Test Documentation in accordance with the Test Index ensuring that the requirements of the Work Specification are understood and included, and paying due regard to the relevant Corporate Documentation and associated Plant Safety Reports/Cases.
As a Nuclear Commissioning Engineer, you will have a strong understanding of Nuclear Engineering principles and practices. You will be required to work closely with other departments to ensure that all commissioning activities are completed safely and efficiently. The salary for this position is £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
