CLA Social Worker Opportunity in Bridgend

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Social Worker to join our Child Care Experienced Team in Bridgend. As a CLA Social Worker, you will be responsible for working with children and families to provide support and guidance to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work independently to attend court and child protection case conferences
  • Undertake complex and high-risk cases, or arrange complex packages of care
  • Complete joint work with less experienced staff in highly complex cases
  • Provide supervision to students and support other staff with students on placement
  • Organise and plan duty rotas as required

The majority of cases will involve children who are care experienced, either in foster placement, residential care, or living with parents under a Care Order. The local authority is working to reduce the number of children in care by discharging care orders appropriately.

Requirements:
  • A minimum of 6 months' experience of working in the UK as a registered social worker
  • A relevant Social Work Qualification
  • Registration with Social Care Wales or Social Work England
  • Enhanced DBS, registered on the update service or willing to apply for a DBS
  • 3 years' worth of referencing
  • Driving license with access to a car
