About the Role

Sustrans is seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to join our team as an I Bike Schools Officer. This exciting opportunity will see you working with schools in the Bearsden and Milngavie areas of East Dunbartonshire to promote cycling, scooting, and walking to and from school and other journeys.

As a key member of our team, you will support school staff and volunteers in promoting active travel within the school community. You will also work closely with local authorities, external partners, and the bicycle industry to create connections and harness resources available for active travel.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Working with schools to develop and implement active travel plans
  • Providing training and support to school staff and volunteers on cycling and walking safety
  • Collaborating with local authorities and external partners to promote active travel initiatives
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with the bicycle industry to access resources and expertise

We are looking for someone with experience of working with children and young people, as well as good written and verbal communication skills. Excellent presentation and report writing skills are also essential, as is the ability to engage with a wide range of age groups. A UK clean, valid driving license is also required for this role.
