Network Support Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Network Support Engineer to join our team at ARO Technology. As a Network Support Engineer, you will play a critical role in supporting our customers' critical network infrastructure by responding to incidents impacting the network and carrying out on-site troubleshooting, cabling, and diagnostic tasks.

You will work closely with our Network Operations Centre, based remotely, and with the customer's technical teams. Although this is a hybrid role, we are looking for someone based in or around the UK as you will be required to work on the customer site. As a part of the role, you will join the on-call rota on a 1 week in 4 basis and support project work with planned overtime if needed.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Assist customers with their questions about supported network infrastructures.
  2. Be the point of contact for escalation for the Arrow Network Operations Centre for queries which require site presence or specific site knowledge.
  3. Interpret instructions, issues arising, and implement actions according to administrative policies and procedures.
  4. Assist project delivery engineers with remote implementation of network projects.
  5. Produce and update documentation and network diagrams.
  6. Participate in the on-call rota on a 1 week in 4 basis.
Requirements
  1. Experience of working in an IT networking support role.
  2. Full UK driving license and access to own car.
  3. Knowledge of cabling for edge and DC.
  4. Understanding of fibre / copper cabling, constraints, technologies, grades, distances, application.
  5. Switching - support and configuration of: L2, STP, MSTP, RSTP, PVST, ;
  6. Routing - support and configuration of HSRP / VRRP / IPv4 / IPv6 / OSPF.
