Job Overview

The Ministry of Defence is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Publications Editor to join their team at the Royal School of Artillery. This role plays a crucial part in the production process, working closely with serving personnel to collate and format publications that set the standard for Royal Artillery Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing an editorial development service for the production and maintenance of Royal Artillery publications and other supporting documents in line with the Royal Artillery Doctrine Publications Working Group.
  • Supporting the production and updating of Royal Artillery Manuals across all disciplines.
  • Implementing changes and updates to publications, and publishing new versions once approved.
  • Maintaining records of current amendments and controlling Army Codes for Royal Artillery Publications.

Requirements

  • A keen eye for detail and experience of working with the Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe InDesign, and Adobe Publisher.
  • Ability to work under their own initiative while working towards common goals.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills.

Working Arrangements

The post is advertised at 37 hours per week and does not offer relocation expenses. External recruits will be subject to a six-month probation period.
