Bryony Gibson Consulting is seeking a seasoned tax professional to lead our private client tax team in the north east of England. As a Legal 500 law firm, we focus extensively on private client work and are looking to grow our private client tax department.

The ideal candidate will have a proven portfolio of private client tax experience and a keen interest in growing their tax market to build a bigger and better private client team. The role will involve both compliance and advisory work, meeting clients and developing their referral network.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provision of tax returns for ongoing trusts, estates, and high net worth individuals
  • Maintenance of trusts, preparing trust accounts, and related administration
  • Assisting with tax planning work for high net worth individuals and families/estates, including inheritance tax
  • Dealing with Trust Registration Service requirements when creating, altering, or terminating trusts
  • Liaising with brokers, agents, and IFAs as necessary
  • Dealing with ten-year anniversary charges, exit charges, and all aspects of inheritance tax compliance work
  • Preparing capital gains tax computations
  • Dealing with chargeable events for estates and trusts

We are looking for a client-facing qualified tax professional (ACA/ACCA/CA/CTA/ATT) who can manage their own clients from day one, working alongside our lawyers to provide a comprehensive service to our clients.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in tax advisory, trusts, inheritance tax planning, and estates management
  • Ability to grow and develop a private client tax team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with lawyers and other professionals

The position comes with a comprehensive salary package that reflects the level of individual appointed to the position, whether at Senior Manager or Manager level.
