  • We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Child Care Team Lead to join our team at Uniting People.
  • As a Child Care Team Lead, you will be responsible for providing care to young people in a Registered Children's home, ensuring their dignity and individuality are maintained.
  • You will engage with young people, their families, and staff to promote a positive attitude and encourage self-esteem and quality of life.
  • The role requires you to maintain a team-based approach, working closely with colleagues to deliver high-quality care and support.
  • Key responsibilities include:
    • Maintaining a positive attitude towards young people and their families.
    • Engaging as a named support worker for young people, assisting trained staff in providing care.
    • Assisting in the development of care plans and review reports.
    • Supporting young people with independent living skills and encouraging independence.
    • Closely monitoring young people who may be distressed or present with challenging behaviour.
    • Assisting in the serving of meals and drinks as requested.
    • Maintaining confidentiality of all matters concerning the Home, young people, staff, and related work.
    • Participating in staff and young people meetings.
    • Attending mandatory training sessions, including conflict management and first aid.
    • Required skills and experience:
      • Driving License or working towards a driving licence is essential.
      • Have or working towards Diploma Level 3 preferred.
      • Experience of working in a caring environment with young people.
      • Experience of working with mental health service-users.
      • Good communication, teamwork, and leadership skills.
